SIA trims flight to Bali<\/p>\n
Singapore Airlines (SIA) has reduced its daily flights to the
\nIndonesian resort island of Bali due to weak demand in the
\naftermath of a deadly carbomb attack, the carrier said Friday.<\/p>\n
\"We have reduced flights to Bali from four to three times a
\nday to match capacity with demand,\" a SIA spokesman told AFP.<\/p>\n
\"When demand picks up, we will respond accordingly,\" the
\nspokesman said.<\/p>\n
The number of travelers to Bali has dwindled following the
\nOct. 12 bomb blasts that killed more than 190 people, most of
\nthem foreign tourists.<\/p>\n
Earlier, the Australian flag carrier Qantas announced cuts to
\nits services to the holiday island.<\/p>\n
Qantas said it had reassessed its services in the light of
\nreduced demand over the coming months and was canceling two of
\nits four weekly return services from Sydney to the Balinese
\ncapital Denpasar.<\/p>\n
It would also halt the weekly Melbourne-Denpasar service, but
\nwould maintain Australia-Jakarta services and a weekly return
\nservice from Perth to Denpasar. -- AFP<\/p>",
