        "content": "<p>SIA gives scholarship<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Singapore Airlines and the Wipara Foundation<br>\nawarded on Saturday scholarships to 235 eligible students.<\/p>\n<p>Singapore Airlines General Manager Indonesia Vijendran Alfreds<br>\nsaid that the scholarship program was aimed at helping to ease<br>\nthe impact of the economic crisis which has affected students'<br>\nability to continue their studies.<\/p>\n<p>\"We were very sad when we heard that some parents were having<br>\ndifficulty sending children to school. So we thought that we<br>\ncould do a little bit to help. I hope with these scholarships we<br>\ncan help the students to continue their studies amid the current<br>\ncrisis,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>The scholarships were given to 82 elementary, 68 junior and<br>\nsenior high school and 22 university students whose parents are<br>\nlow-ranking employees of the directorate general of air<br>\ncommunications of the communications ministry.
