        "content": "<p>Shuttlers get other training facility<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Indonesian shuttlers, targeting two gold medals<br>\nat the Olympic Games, will benefit from a special training<br>\nfacility in a sports hall in a high school near the athletes'<br>\nvillage at Homebush Bay in Sydney.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia's Olympic training director, Arie Sudewo, said on<br>\nMonday the Indonesian community in Sydney invited the shuttlers<br>\nto train in the hall, which is a 30-minute walk from the<br>\nathletes' village.<\/p>\n<p>\"The Indonesian community, mostly consisting of people from<br>\nWest Sumatra, have asked the shuttlers to practice in the sports<br>\nhall. The community has a badminton club and they regularly rent<br>\nthe sports hall to practice.<\/p>\n<p>\"Our shuttlers will no longer have to depend on the practice<br>\nfacility provided by the organizers,\" said Arie, who is also the<br>\nvice chairman of the National Sports Council (KONI).<\/p>\n<p>Nineteen men's and women's shuttlers and eight coaches and<br>\nofficials will be part of the last batch of the Indonesian<br>\nOlympic contingent leaving for Sydney on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>The shuttlers are Taufik Hidayat, Hendrawan and Marlev Mainaky<br>\nin the men's singles; Flandy Limpele, Eng Hian, Ricky Soebagdja,<br>\nRexy Mainaky, Tony Gunawan and Candra Wijaya in the men's<br>\ndoubles; Tri Kusharjanto, Bambang Supriyanto, Minarti Timur and<br>\nZelin Resiana in the mixed doubles; Lydia Djaelawidjaja and Ellen<br>\nAngelinawaty in the women's singles; and Elysa Nathanael, Deyana<br>\nLomban, Etty Tantri and Cynthia Tuwankotta in the women's<br>\ndoubles.<\/p>\n<p>Also leaving on Sunday are women's divers Shenny Ratna Amelia<br>\nand Eka Purnama Indah; men's diver Muhammad Nasrullah and coach<br>\nHarli Ramayani; men's table tennis players Anton Suseno, Ismu<br>\nHarinto and coach Adjat Sudrajat; women's taekwondoins Juana<br>\nWangsa Putri, Rahadewi Neta and coach Oh Il-nam; men's swimmers<br>\nRichard Sam Bera, Albert Christiadi Sutanto, Felix Christiadi<br>\nSutanto, Steven Chandra and coach Lisa Farida Siregar; women's<br>\ntennis players Yayuk Basuki, Wynne Prakusya and coach Suzana<br>\nAnggar Kusuma; men's judoka Kresna Bayu; women's judoka Aprilia<br>\nMarzuki and coach Iswanda S. Sutanto.<\/p>\n<p>Arie said 11 athletes and 11 coaches and officials would leave<br>\nfor Sydney on Tuesday. The athletes and coaches are women's<br>\nsprinter Irene Truitje Joseph; men's sprinters Subakir, Sukari,<br>\nJohn Herman Murray, Erwin Heru Susanto and Yanes Raubaba, and<br>\ncoaches Bambang Wahjudi and Pieter Noya; boxers Hermansen Ballo,<br>\nLa Paene Massara and coach Frans Van Bronckhorst; women's<br>\nweightlifters Sri Indriyani, Winarni and Lisa Rumbewas, and<br>\ncoaches Imron Rosadi and Lukman.<\/p>\n<p>Pieter Noya said he and Bambang had named three possible<br>\nlineups for the men's 4x100m relay team. The first is Sukari,<br>\nErwin, Subakir and John; the second alternative will have Yanes<br>\nrunning the third leg instead of Subakir; and in the third<br>\noption, Subakir will run the first leg of the relay, followed by<br>\nErwin, John and Yanes.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have one week before the day of the competition to decide<br>\non the best team,\" he said, adding that Yanes had reached his top<br>\nform after suffering from typhoid last month.<\/p>\n<p>In an unrelated development, KONI official in charge of<br>\nathlete development, Moch. Hindarto, said on Monday the council<br>\nhad set the physical standards to be used to select athletes  for<br>\nthe centralized training center for the 2001 Southeast Asian<br>\nGames here next year.<\/p>\n<p>The standard includes the 30 meter run, two minutes of sit-<br>\nups, flexibility and the vertical jump.<\/p>\n<p>\"The male athletes should run (the 30m) in less than 4.3<br>\nseconds and the women 5.5. The men should be able to do 55 sit-<br>\nups and the women 50. The men should be able to stretch up to 25<br>\ncentimeters and the women 30cm. And finally, the men should be<br>\nable to jump a minimum of 60cm high and the women 50cm,\" he<br>\nannounced. (ivy)<\/p>",
