        "content": "<p>Shots fired at Australian Embassy<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): National Police detectives have said they have<br>\nno leads on the identity of those responsible for firing shots on<br>\nMonday evening at three empty offices of the Australian Embassy<br>\non Jl. Rasuna Said, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\"We have no idea who the shooters are. I can assure you,<br>\nthough, that we are doing our best to investigate this case,\" a<br>\npolice source said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\"We found a live bullet that hit the window of the third<br>\nfloor... it's being examined. It's already dented,\" he added.<\/p>\n<p>He said at least 100 police officers had been deployed to<br>\npatrol the embassy's compound around the clock.<\/p>\n<p>National Police spokesman Brig. Gen. Togar M. Sianipar said<br>\nthat since protesters began burning Australian flags outside the<br>\nembassy compound, 100 officers from the Tebet Police subprecinct,<br>\nas well as 80 people's security officers had been deployed to<br>\nsafeguard the compound.<\/p>\n<p>\"The problem is, the shooters used silencers. This is why, the<br>\nofficers on guard were completely unaware of the shooting,\" Togar<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>A city police report said the shots hit two windows, breaking<br>\none and almost shattering another.<\/p>\n<p>City police spokesman Lt. Col. Zainuri Lubis said: \"The<br>\nbullets hit two windows: Room number 321, the office of Mr. Tre,<br>\nwho holds a high-ranking post with Australian Interpol, and room<br>\nnumber 420 of Mr. John Fischer... Mr. Tre's window was broken.<br>\n(The window in Mr. Fischer's office) was nearly shattered.\"<\/p>\n<p>Detectives at National Police Headquarters are investigating<br>\nthe security breach.<\/p>\n<p>Counselor for Public Affairs at the Australian Embassy John<br>\nMilne confirmed the shots.<\/p>\n<p>\"There was no serious damage,\" John told The Jakarta Post on<br>\nTuesday over the phone.<\/p>\n<p>In response to Australia's vocal stance over East Timor, the<br>\nembassy has been the site of daily anti-Australia protests.<br>\n(ylt\/03)<\/p>",
