        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The e-commerce platform Shopee is preparing a\nspecial voucher programme for shops selling 100% local products as an\neffort to encourage public shopping interest.<\/p>\n<p>Shopee\u2019s Deputy Director of Public Affairs, Radynal Nataprawira,\nstated in Jakarta on Tuesday that promotional support in the form of\nvouchers is considered effective in increasing consumer buying interest\nwhile expanding transaction opportunities for local businesses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see that promotional support in the form of vouchers has a real\nimpact in helping to increase consumer buying interest and expand\ntransaction opportunities. Building on this effectiveness, Shopee is\nintroducing the Local Business Acceleration Voucher as additional\nsupport for sellers with 100% local products to enable more sustainable\ndevelopment,\u201d said Radynal.<\/p>\n<p>From January to May 2026, Shopee will allocate Rp100 billion in\nvarious types of vouchers to support transactions on the platform.<\/p>\n<p>Based on Shopee\u2019s internal data, local sellers have recorded income\nincreases of up to 40% through the use of shop vouchers and special\ncampaign vouchers for local products.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, during Local Shopping Day events held every 17th, local\nMSME sellers also recorded sales surges of more than twofold compared to\nnormal periods.<\/p>\n<p>Online shop owner of Trendy Spring Bed, Vincentius Leonardo, said\nthat the voucher and marketplace promotion programmes are considered\neffective in driving sales and attracting consumer traffic, especially\nfor household products requiring large shipments like spring beds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe platform also provides vouchers and promotions that directly\nattract buyer traffic. So, consumers get competitive prices, and we can\nstill maintain margins. For me, this is not a burden; it\u2019s just normal\nmarketing costs,\u201d said Vincentius.<\/p>\n<p>Shopee hopes that the voucher programme will benefit both sellers and\nconsumers, while supporting the growth of local products on the\ne-commerce platform.<\/p>",
