        "content": "<p>Biro Klasifikasi Indonesia (Persero) held a socialisation event\ntitled \u2018Synergy of Regulation and Safety: Implementation of Bottom\nDamage Stability &amp; Double Bottom on Cargo and Passenger Ships of the\nNational Fleet\u2019. The activity took place at the ASTON Samarinda Hotel\n&amp; Convention Center, Samarinda. This event became a strategic forum\nbringing together regulators, industry players, and maritime\nstakeholders. Its aim was to align perceptions on the implementation of\nship safety regulations while encouraging the improvement of national\nfleet safety standards for safe and sustainable sea transport. Present\nat the event were BKI Classification Business Operations Director Arief\nBudi Permana, representatives from the Directorate General of Sea\nTransportation of the Ministry of Transportation, namely Director of\nShipping and Seafaring Ir. Samsuddin, M.T., M.Mar.E., Subdirector of\nDesign, Load Lines and Stability Amir Makbul, M.T., M.Mar, and Head of\nLegal Status Section of KSOP Class I Samarinda Syahriar, S.SIT., M.H.\nAlso present were Chairman of INSA Samarinda H. Agus Sakhlan, S.E. and\nChairman of IPERINDO East Kalimantan Dr.\u00a0H. Untung Suropati, S.E., M.M.\nIn his remarks, BKI Classification Business Operations Director Arief\nBudi Permana stressed that shipping safety must be a priority for all\nstakeholders. \u2018Safety is not only the obligation of regulators, but a\nshared responsibility to protect human lives, safeguard assets, and\nensure the sustainability of the national shipping industry,\u2019 he said.\nMeanwhile, Director of Shipping and Seafaring Samsuddin stated that this\nforum was important to align understanding between regulators,\nclassification bodies, ship owners, and shipyards, particularly\nregarding the harmonisation of ship safety requirements. \u2018I hope there\nwill be input for improving regulations according to the needs of the\ncommunity. In this way, we jointly support the improvement of ship\nsafety and create a more competitive and sustainable shipping business\nclimate,\u2019 said Samsuddin. Through this socialisation, BKI affirmed its\ncommitment to strengthening the alignment of understanding among\nstakeholders. The goal is for the processes of planning, construction,\ncertification, and operation of ships to run more effectively. This\neffort is also directed at encouraging the implementation of better\nsafety standards in the national fleet and minimising the risk of\nshipping accidents.<\/p>",
