Sharon Stone designs bag for Louis Vuitton<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): One of Hollywood's sexiest actresses, Sharon
\nStone, is pursuing a new role as a committed activist in the
\npromotion of scientific research for AIDS.<\/p>\n
Her high-profile efforts are directed at joining luxurious
\nleather handbag producer Louis Vuitton. Stone and Louis Vuitton
\nhave been working together to produce new lines for Louis
\nVuitton's vanity cases, officially launched at the 57th
\nInternational Venice Film Festival recently.<\/p>\n
Stone has designed the luxury cases to benefit the American
\nFoundation for AIDS Research (amfAR).<\/p>\n
During the event, the foundation also launched the benefit
\nevent Cinema Against AIDS Venice. The program has been an
\nimportant and successful fund-raising event for nearly a decade,
\ngenerating over US$5 million for essential AIDS research.<\/p>\n
The new line of products include amFar One, a large hard-sided
\nbeauty case in monogrammed canvas with natural cowhide details,
\nsuch as a hand-stitched handle and protected edges. The deep red
\ngoatskin lining enhances the sublime beauty of this product.<\/p>\n
The second piece is amFar Two, a small hard-sided beauty case
\nin monogrammed canvas, with a deep red morroco leather lining.<\/p>\n
AmfAR three is a soft beauty tote bag in monogrammed canvas
\nwith a shoulder strap in natural cowhide, lined with deep red
\nalcantara. One side of the case features two vertical, extendible
\npockets and one patch pocket; the other side features a patch
\npocket with a leather strap for bottles.<\/p>\n
AmfAR is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support of
\nAIDS research, prevention and the advocacy of sound AIDS-related
\npublic policies.<\/p>\n
Since l985, the foundation has invested over $166 million in
\nsupport of its programs, primarily through grants to more than
