        "content": "<p>Share prices rise on Jakarta Stock Exchange<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The JSX broke a time honored tradition yesterday <br>\nwhen the price of traded shares gained ground in the midst of <br>\ndeclines on other Asian markets.<\/p>\n<p>The broad-based Composite Index increased by almost two <br>\npoints.<\/p>\n<p>The index, rising for the first time this week, closed to <br>\n462.64 yesterday, as compared to 460.33 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>There was a slight increased on the narrow-based GTDBS-50 <br>\nIndex from 107.06 to 107.44.<\/p>\n<p>Trading volume rose to 17.21 million shares worth Rp 73.57 <br>\nbillion (US$34.23 million) from 12.46 million shares valued at Rp <br>\n49.99 billion.<\/p>\n<p>The shares gaining sharp increases yesterday included Kedaung <br>\nIndah Can (+Rp 225), Mayatexdian (+Rp 700), Putra Surya Perkasa <br>\n(+Rp 425), Semen Cibinong (+Rp 250) and United Tractor (+Rp 225).<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday's top losers were Bayu Buana (-Rp 200), Polysindo <br>\nEka Perkasa (-Rp 225), Kabel Metal Indonesia (-Rp 200) and <br>\nUnilever Indonesia (-Rp 1,000).<\/p>\n<p>A total of 8.72 million shares changed hands yesterday at Rp <br>\n31.16 billion on the regular board, 400,000 shares at Rp 2.10 <br>\nbillion on the block sale board,  6.62 million shares at Rp 33.87 <br>\nbillion on the crossing board and 1.46 million shares at Rp 6.43 <br>\nbillion on the foreign board.<\/p>\n<p>The odd lot and cash trading boards recorded no transactions <br>\nyesterday.
