Jakarta \u2014 The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) and Indonesia Central\nSecurities Depository (KSEI) are continuing to strengthen public\ndisclosure of information to create a healthier Indonesian capital\nmarket.<\/p>\n
One significant development is the issuance of share ownership\ninformation for listed companies holding above 1% of shares. This\nrepresents an important milestone in strengthening capital market\ngovernance in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
BEI and KSEI officially announced the disclosure policy on Tuesday, 3\nMarch 2026. The policy follows Financial Services Authority (OJK)\nCommissioner Board Decision No.\u00a01\/KDK.04\/2026, which designates BEI and\nKSEI as providers of public share ownership data for listed\ncompanies.<\/p>\n
Under these provisions, share ownership data above 1% will be\ncompiled by KSEI and published monthly through the official BEI website.\nThe initiative aims to provide a more transparent picture of the\nshareholding structure of companies listed on Indonesia\u2019s capital\nmarket.<\/p>\n
Acting BEI Chief Executive Jeffrey Hendrik stated that this measure\nis part of ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and strengthen\ncapital market governance in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrengthening market data quality is part of a long-term commitment\nto building an Indonesian capital market that is credible and\ntrustworthy. With improved information openness, it is hoped that the\nconfidence, integrity, and credibility of the national capital market\nwill be further strengthened,\u201d Jeffrey said in an official\nstatement.<\/p>\n
Globally, openness regarding share ownership has become standard\npractice in implementing good corporate governance (GCG) principles.\nThrough this policy, Indonesia\u2019s capital market will increasingly align\nwith international standards that emphasise transparency,\naccountability, and investor protection.<\/p>\n
BEI and KSEI are committed to continuously raising standards of\ninformation disclosure in line with global best practices, whilst\nensuring fair, orderly, and efficient securities trading. Transparency\nmeans not only opening up data, but also ensuring it is easily\naccessible, well-structured, and relevant to investor needs.<\/p>\n
For investors, more detailed share ownership data can serve as an\nadditional reference when conducting fundamental analysis. This\ninformation can be combined with financial reports, earnings\nperformance, cash flows, and industry prospects to generate more\ncomprehensive investment decisions.<\/p>\n
Moreover, transparency plays a crucial role in strengthening market\nintegrity.
