        "content": "<p>Shanghai Disneyland is preparing to begin trials of several\nattractions in its new Spider-Man themed area, which is the ninth themed\nzone in the amusement park and its third expansion since first opening,\nShanghai Disney Resort announced on Sunday (16\/8).<\/p>\n<p>The Worldwide Engineering Brigade, or \u201cW.E.B.\u201d, will make its debut\nin Shanghai when the park opens its new Spider-Man themed area,\naccording to resort officials.<\/p>\n<p>The W.E.B. facility, designed as a state-of-the-art research and\ndevelopment centre where Marvel heroes, inventors and engineers work\ntogether to develop and test disruptive technology, will immerse\nvisitors in a Spider-Man adventure centred on creativity and advanced\nengineering.<\/p>\n<p>The resort\u2019s expansion efforts, however, are not limited to the\nSpider-Man project. Several other projects being planned include an\nupdate to the \u201cSoaring Over the Horizon\u201d attraction, which is the park\u2019s\nflagship ride, two new themed hotels adjacent to the park, and a\nresidential complex for staff designed to support frontline employees in\ndelivering unforgettable experiences for guests.<\/p>\n<p>Since opening in June 2016, Shanghai Disneyland has welcomed more\nthan 100 million guest visits as of the end of October 2025.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, when construction of Shanghai Disney Resort first began,\nShanghai received 230 million domestic visitors and generated tourism\nrevenue of approximately 278.6 billion yuan (1 yuan = Rp2,651).<\/p>\n<p>By 2025, the number of domestic visitors had increased to 416\nmillion, while tourism revenue reached 566.68 billion yuan, according to\nlocal culture and tourism authorities.<\/p>\n<p>The surge in inbound tourism to China, driven by the expansion of\nvisa-free entry policies, has further boosted visitor numbers at\nShanghai Disneyland, particularly among visitors from Japan, South Korea\nand Southeast Asian countries.<\/p>",
