But<br>\nit's a shame there is no explanation of the dialog between the<br>\ncharacters, including the jokes and verbal arguments, which would<br>\nbe beneficial to Indonesian viewers who are a blend of various<br>\nethnic groups.<\/p>\n<p>It would also be a shame if other viewers switched to another<br>\nchannel because they could not understand the dialog.<\/p>\n<p>Another problem concerns the camera angle. The camera often<br>\nshoots from the puppeteer's angle, focusing mainly on the<br>\nblencong (oil lamp) which actually spoils the performance.<\/p>\n<p>When a war scene is going on, the camera focuses on the<br>\ngamelan players and Javanese singers, meaning viewers are left to<br>\nguess scenes of importance.<\/p>\n<p>The camera crew should shoot from the front, and not from<br>\nbehind so viewers can follow the performance the traditional way,<br>\nfacing the screen.<\/p>\n<p>Shooting of scenes should comprise 40 percent of the<br>\nperformance, while the rest of the time could be distributed<br>\namong the puppeteer and other members on stage.<\/p>\n<p>This would allow the puppeteer's skill to be clearly displayed<br>\nand would emphasize the war effects by the light of the oil lamp<br>\nas in Ki Manteb Sudarsono's creation.<\/p>\n<p>MANUMPAK S.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta<\/p>",
