Semarang (ANTARA) - The \u201cSemarang International Art & Design\nFestival\u201d (Sewunara), organised by Binus Semarang, brings together\nacademics, industry leaders, government officials, professional\norganisations, professional designers, artists, creators, and students\nfrom various countries to exchange creative ideas.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the opening of Sewunara at Binus Semarang on Saturday,\nthe Mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti, stated that the\ngathering serves as a platform to discuss urban development, creativity,\nand the future potential of creative works.<\/p>\n
Under the theme \u201cFuture City,\u201d Sewunara is running from 26 September\nto 10 October 2026, integrated with the \u201cSemarang IP Summit 2026,\u201d\norganised by the Semarang City Industry Office.<\/p>\n
She noted that Sewunara represents an initial step towards\nrevitalising the creative industry in Semarang. Regarding the IP Summit,\nshe added that it will be developed through collaboration across various\nregional government agencies, driven by the desire to capture the\ncreative potential of the youth through various creative economy\nagendas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe IP Summit is being unified by the Industry Office. Later,\ncolleagues from the Archives and Communication and Information Office\n(Kominfo) will step in to create various events that capture the\ncreative economy of young people,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Agustuna expressed her appreciation to Binus Semarang for providing a\nspace where creative players can meet with the government and\nindustry.<\/p>\n
The Head of the Semarang City Industry Office, Arwita Mawarti, stated\nthat the IP Summit serves as a new platform to develop the potential of\nthe younger generation who possess creative ideas.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe IP Summit will serve as a forum, and we from the Industry\nOffice, in supporting the Mayor\u2019s \u2018Waras Ekonominya\u2019 (Healthy Economy)\nprogramme, will continue to organise activities that help develop SMEs,\u201d\nshe said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Campus Director of Binus Semarang, Dr Fredy Purnomo,\nremarked that urban development requires involvement from various\nfields, especially as technology becomes increasingly integrated into\npeople\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen we talk about the future city, we are not just talking about\ntechnology or infrastructure. We also need to consider how humans will\nlive, interact, create, and build communities within it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
According to him, Sewunara provides an opportunity to bring various\nparties together to view the future of the city from diverse\nperspectives.<\/p>\n
Through the Sewunara x Semarang IP Summit, students gain the\nopportunity to interact directly with practitioners, professionals,\nacademics, creators, and participants from various countries. This\nallows them to understand how creativity, design, technology, and\nintellectual property are interconnected in the development of future\nindustries.<\/p>\n
