Seven killed in Bogor collision<\/p>\n
BOGOR (JP): Seven people on board an overloaded angkot (public
\nminivan) were killed and four others severely injured when a
\nspeeding intercity bus collided with the vehicle at the Sukasari
\nintersection in the wee hours of Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Four of the victims died instantly, while the other three
\ndied later at the Indonesian Red Cross hospital.<\/p>\n
The victims included the driver of the angkot.<\/p>\n
The driver of the bus, identified as Tatang, fled the
\nscene.<\/p>\n
"He's still at large," a police officer said.<\/p>\n
According to data from the local police, the collision took
\nplace when the street was almost deserted at about 3:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
The bus, belonging to the Lorena transportation company, was
\nempty when the accident took place, the police said. It was
\nheaded for the Baranangsiang terminal from the company's bus pool
\nin Tajur.<\/p>\n
"The angkot was heading to Tajur from the Sukasari area and
\nwas just about to cross the intersection when it was hit by the
\nspeeding bus, which was coming from the opposite direction," the
\nofficer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said.<\/p>\n
"The angkot was dragged some 10 meters from the scene," he
\nadded.<\/p>\n
Sources at the hospital identified the seven dead victims as
\nangkot driver Dedi Supriadi, Maman Suparman, Ujang Patrimin,
\nEtek, Yanah, Ajum Junaedi and Sri Maryati.<\/p>\n
Most were Bogor residents.<\/p>\n
The two vehicles have been impounded for evidence in the
