        "content": "<p>Settle border problems amicably<\/p>\n<p>JAYAPURA, Irian Jaya: Governor Jacob Pattipi called yesterday<br>\nfor amicable solutions to disputes over border areas with Papua<br>\nNew Guinea.<\/p>\n<p>Opening the Border Liaison Meeting in Jayapura, he said rows<br>\nbetween the two countries over the border should be more easily<br>\nsolved because of existing good relations.<\/p>\n<p>To maintain the positive condition, he said, the two countries<br>\nshould respect each other's sovereignty. Incidents and conflicts<br>\nhappen sometimes, he said, but they should not disturb relations.<\/p>\n<p>Antara reported him saying that separatist movements are still<br>\noperating near the border, but they are mostly isolated and do<br>\nnot get support from local people.<\/p>\n<p>The two-day Border Liaison Meeting is being attended by 21<br>\ndelegates.
