        "content": "<p>Senior figures united under the East Kalimantan Care Community (MPKT)\nhope to meet with the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo\nSubianto, to convey aspirations and concerns regarding the current\nsocio-political situation and governance in East Kalimantan Province\n(Kaltim). MPKT initiator Harbiansyah Hanafiah, in Samarinda on Sunday,\nrevealed that an official letter requesting an audience had been\nsubmitted through President Prabowo\u2019s nephew, Budi Satrio Djiwandono,\nduring a working visit to Balikpapan. \u201cThe letter has been handed to Mr\nBudi Satrio to forward to the President of the Republic,\u201d stated the\nformer Chairman of the East Kalimantan KONI. Accompanied by several\nacademic figures, businesspeople, former bureaucrats, and local sports\nleaders, Harbiansyah explained that this step was taken in response to\ngrowing public dissatisfaction with the performance and policies of the\nEast Kalimantan Governor. He assessed that several current strategic\npolicies do not reflect public interests but rather lean towards the\npolitical and business interests of certain groups. \u201cThe public views\nseveral policies as draining the regional budget (APBD), which should be\nprioritised for infrastructure development and public welfare,\u201d he said.\nThere are four main points in MPKT\u2019s aspirations: first, regarding\nbudget transparency, with allocations deemed unaccountable and not in\nline with priority scales. One emerging point is the alleged use of APBD\nto host guests at Harum Resort, suspected to be owned by the Governor\u2019s\nfamily. Second, concerning dynastic political practices, namely\nindications of placing the Governor\u2019s close relatives in strategic\npositions in both government and non-government sectors. \u201cMPKT assesses\nthat this has the potential to violate Law No.\u00a028 of 1999 on the\nAdministration of a State Free from Corruption, Collusion, and Nepotism.\nThis issue even went viral on social media and became a sharp public\nfocus,\u201d Harbiansyah stated. Third, he said, the lack of public\nparticipation in the decision-making process, which should be an\nintegral part of regional development.
