If we are serious, it is\nnot impossible for Indonesia to become a new giant in this field.<\/p>\n<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the\nRepublic of Indonesia, through the \u201cSenator Inseminator\u201d movement, is\npushing for the acceleration of artificial insemination (IB) programmes\nas a key strategy towards self-sufficiency in meat and milk.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Chairman of Committee II of the DPD RI, Angelo Wake Kako,\nstated that artificial insemination is a strategic instrument for\nrapidly and measurably increasing livestock productivity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe livestock sector is Indonesia\u2019s future. If we are serious, it is\nnot impossible for Indonesia to become a new giant in this field,\u201d he\nsaid in his statement in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the programme also aligns with the major agenda of the\nPrabowo Subianto administration in promoting the \u201cwhite revolution\u201d,\nnamely the target of national self-sufficiency in meat and milk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe concept is simple; we want the community to be directly involved\nin the food self-sufficiency agenda, especially in the cattle farming\nsector,\u201d he said at the \u201cReal Action for Revitalisation of Vocational\nEducation and Vocational Training (PVPV) 2026\u201d event held by the\nCoordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture in Bandung, West\nJava.<\/p>\n<p>Through the \u201cSenator Inseminator\u201d movement, his side is actively\ngoing down to villages to conduct outreach as well as direct practical\nartificial insemination.<\/p>\n<p>This programme not only focuses on technical aspects but also on\nbuilding community awareness and active involvement of local\nfarmers.<\/p>\n<p>Artificial insemination is considered to have several advantages,\nranging from improving the genetic quality of livestock, increasing\nregular birth rates, to optimising the use of superior stud semen.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, this method is also deemed effective in suppressing the\nrisk of disease transmission in livestock.<\/p>\n<p>Angelo hopes that this movement can serve as a model for\ncollaboration between the central government, regions, and the community\nin accelerating self-sufficiency in meat and milk.
