JAKARTA \u2014 The Jakarta West District Prosecutor\u2019s Office transferred\nseized funds worth Rp 530 billion from online gambling boss Oei Hengky\nWiryo, now a convicted offender, to the Ministry of Finance on Friday,\n13 March 2026.<\/p>\n
According to Kompas.com\u2019s observations, the stack of cash was\nprominently displayed in the hall of the Jakarta West District\nProsecutor\u2019s Office. The money, comprised largely of pink-hued Rp\n100,000 notes, was neatly bundled in transparent plastic and arranged in\nlayers, forming a barricade-like structure approximately three metres\nlong.<\/p>\n
The transfer of state funds was conducted symbolically to Astera\nPrimanto Bhakti, Director General of State Treasury at the Ministry of\nFinance.<\/p>\n
The total amount comprises Rp 529.43 billion in seized state assets\noriginating from various bank accounts allegedly connected to online\ngambling offences, plus Rp 1 billion in fines.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe deposit of seized state assets and fines for this case was\ncarried out through the official mechanism into the state treasury as a\nform of implementing the court decision which has obtained permanent\nlegal force,\u201d said Nurul at the Jakarta West District Prosecutor\u2019s\nOffice on Friday.<\/p>\n
Nurul stated that the transfer of funds represents the Jakarta West\nDistrict Prosecutor\u2019s Office\u2019s commitment to recovering state assets and\nensuring that perpetrators of crime are prosecuted as severely as\npossible.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe return of seized funds to the state treasury demonstrates that\nthe law enforcement process must be carried through to completion. It is\nnot only about imposing custodial sentences on perpetrators, but also\nfirmly seizing assets obtained through criminal activity for deposit\ninto the state treasury,\u201d Nurul said.<\/p>\n
The 34-year-old man from Medan, who resides in Pantai Mutiara, North\nJakarta, was found guilty of money laundering from online gambling\nproceeds. He was sentenced to two years imprisonment and a fine of Rp 1\nbillion, or alternatively 190 days imprisonment.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis type of crime not only damages the state, but also erodes the\nmorals and economic capacity of society.
