        "content": "<p>Sega shifts production<\/p>\n<p>TOKYO (AFP): Japan's Sega Enterprises Ltd. plans to transfer<br>\nall of its production of video-game machines overseas as early as<br>\nnext year in an effort to lower production costs, a newspaper<br>\nreported yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The Nihon Keizai Shimbun quoted company officials as saying<br>\nthat Sega would start importing 90 percent of games destined for<br>\nthe local market from sub-contractors in Taiwan, China, Thailand,<br>\nIndonesia and Malaysia from August,  cutting domestic production<br>\nto 10 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Japanese sub-contractors in Tokyo and two prefectures to the<br>\nnorth and east of the capital currently account for 40 percent of<br>\nSega's home-video games destined for the Japanese market, the<br>\nnewspaper said.<\/p>\n<p>Sega plans to keep a single Japanese production line open<br>\nafter August to produce its SegaSaturn model. But it will also be<br>\ntransferred overseas during the 12-month period starting in March<br>\nnext year, the newspaper said, adding that the company would also<br>\nboost its procurement of overseas parts.<\/p>\n<p>Company officials were unavailable to comment on the report.<\/p>",
