As the region serves as the location for the Nusantara Capital City\n(IKN), collaboration between national defence elements and local\ngovernments is increasingly viewed as essential to ensure a safe,\nconducive, and productive situation for both the community and\ndevelopment efforts.<\/p>\n
The commitment to strengthening this synergy was a key focus during a\nvisit by the Commander of Joint Regional Defence Command II\n(Pangkogabwilcalhan II), Marsdya TNI Muzafar, to the Balikpapan Mayor\u2019s\nofficial residence on Monday (14\/09\/2026).<\/p>\n
The visit, accompanied by senior officials from Kogabwilhan II, was\nreceived by the Mayor of Balikpapan, Rahmad Mas\u2019ud. The meeting took\nplace in a friendly atmosphere and addressed several strategic issues,\nparticularly regarding regional security, local stability, and support\nfor the continued development of IKN and its buffer zones.<\/p>\n
Balikpapan holds a strategic position in supporting the development\nof IKN. The city serves as one of the primary gateways to the new\ncapital region and plays a crucial role in supporting human mobility,\nlogistics distribution, economic activities, and various construction\nneeds in East Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
Consequently, security stability and regional conduciveness are\ninseparable factors from the success of the national development agenda\nin the area. The presence and synergy of various elements, including the\nTNI (Indonesian National Armed Forces) and local government, are part of\nthe effort to maintain regional readiness in facing evolving development\ndynamics.<\/p>\n
During the occasion, Pangkogabwilhan II Marsdya TNI Muzafar expressed\nhis appreciation for the welcome provided by the Balikpapan City\nGovernment. He reaffirmed Kogabwilhan II\u2019s commitment to continuously\nstrengthening synergy with local governments to maintain security\nstability and support the smooth implementation of various national\nstrategic programmes in the East Kalimantan region.<\/p>\n
According to him, collaboration between defence institutions and\nlocal governments is significant because security is not only related to\npreparedness against potential disruptions but also serves as the\nfoundation for fostering public trust and the continuity of development\nactivities.<\/p>\n
