        "content": "<p>Security guards demand severance pay<\/p>\n<p>SAMARINDA, East Kalimantan: Dozens of former employees at PT Vico<br>\nIndonesia, a production sharing contractor of state-owned oil and<br>\ngas company PT Pertamina, protested on Tuesday in front of the<br>\nEast Kalimantan provincial council building.<\/p>\n<p>The employees, all former security guards with PT Vico,<br>\ndemanded the company give them severance pay.<\/p>\n<p>The protest coordinator, Jamian Ali Bethan, said none of the<br>\nfired security guards had received the severance pay promised to<br>\nthem by the company last year.<\/p>\n<p>Surya Safari, an external relations officer at Vico, said the<br>\ncompany had given the dismissed security guards severance pay, as<br>\nrequired by the law.<\/p>\n<p>However, he acknowledged that 12 of the security guards had<br>\nyet to receive their severance pay, but the company was working<br>\non getting the money to them. -- JP<\/p>",
