A readiness parade was held on Thursday (21 May 2026), at 08:00 WIB,\nat the Southwest Crossroads of Monas, Jakpus. The parade was led by\nKarorena Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Teguh Tri Sasongko, with personnel from\nPolda Metro Jaya and Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat.<\/p>\n
In his address, Kombes Teguh Tri Sasongko asked all personnel to\nprioritise a humane and professional approach during security\noperations.<\/p>\n
\u201cCarry out security duties with full responsibility, humanely, and\ncontinue to prioritise the safety of the public as well as personnel on\nthe ground. Serve our brothers and sisters who express their aspirations\nproperly in accordance with procedures,\u201d Teguh said in a statement on\nThursday, (21 May).<\/p>\n
He also reminded personnel to maintain solidarity and not be easily\nprovoked by provocations during the security operations. The\ndemonstrators come from various elements of society, including the Forum\nKomunikasi Ojol Tertindas and several other groups who are currently\nvoicing their aspirations in the Monas southern cross area, Gambir,\nCentral Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The Chief of Jakarta Pusat Police, Kombes Reynold Hutagalung, said\nthey had prepared security to the maximum to ensure that the entire\nsequence of demonstrations proceeds safely and orderly.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have prepared 3,067 personnel to secure the demonstrations\u2019\nprogress. The security is conducted professionally, humanely, and with a\npersuasive approach,\u201d Reynold said.<\/p>\n
Reynold said the security measures represent the Police\u2019s service to\nguarantee the public\u2019s freedom to express opinions in public in\naccordance with applicable rules.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe respect the public\u2019s right to express their aspirations. However,\nwe also urge participants to stay orderly, not anarchic, and to comply\nwith the applicable rules,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
In addition to crowd security, police prepared situational traffic\nmanagement around the Monas area and Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan to\nanticipate traffic congestion.<\/p>\n
\u201cTraffic around the Monas area will be diverted situationally. We\nurge the public to seek alternative routes to avoid congestion,\u201d Reynold\nexplained.<\/p>\n
The police also urged the public to remain cautious on the roads and\nfollow officers\u2019 directions on the ground to ensure smooth joint\nactivities. The Jakarta Pusat Metropolitan Police concluded that\nsecurity would be maintained until all activities concluded to keep\npublic security and order safe and conducive.<\/p>\n
