Indonesians are unfortunate. For several years they have been
\nsuffering from a protracted economic crisis characterized by
\nprice hikes in almost every aspect of life, ranging from
\neducation and daily necessities, to electricity and fuel. At the
\nsame time, the government officials that should be helping them
\nhave used their positions to enrich themselves.<\/p>\n
In short, government officials have made the people cash cows.
\nRather than serving the people, as they should, it is the people
\nthat must serve them. These government officials use bribes to
\nget their positions, and once they have these positions they use
\nthem to get back their bribe money.<\/p>\n
In a letter an elementary school student wrote to the
\nPresident, he tells the story of a state leader who brings food
\nto his starving people. In Indonesia today, state leaders do not
\nspend even a second thinking about the plight of the people.<\/p>\n
All of this is the result of secularism. The only solution is
\nto enforce Islamic law.<\/p>\n
