        "content": "<p>Sect followers get day in court<\/p>\n<p>PALU, Central Sulawesi: Prosecutors are preparing multiple<br>\ncharges against 11 followers of the Madi Islamic sect in Central<br>\nSulawesi for allegedly attacking police during a raid by the<br>\nofficers in October.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutor I Putu Djeladha said here on Tuesday the defendants<br>\nwould be charged under the Criminal Code and Emergency Law No.<br>\n12\/1951 for illegally possessing firearms, sharp weapons and<br>\nexplosives.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We have prepared three lawsuits against them, with each<br>\ndefendant to face charges based on their crimes -- illegal<br>\npossession of firearms, assault, manslaughter and premeditated<br>\nmurders,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Putu said the South Sulawesi Prosecutor&apos;s Office will file the<br>\nlawsuits with the Palu District Court by the middle of January.<\/p>\n<p>Five people were killed when Madi followers attacked police in<br>\na hilly area near Palu on Oct. 25. The dead were three policemen<br>\nand two Mahdi members.<\/p>\n<p>Police and soldiers are still hunting for the sect leader,<br>\nMadi, who escaped the raid into the Gawalise jungle. -- Antara<\/p>",
