        "content": "<p>Seawater turned into potable water<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: The City Environmental Management Agency (BPLHD) says<br>\nit plans to apply River Osmosis technology to turn seawater into<br>\npotable water.<\/p>\n<p>Agency head Kosasih Wirahadikusumah said on Monday BPLHD had<br>\nsigned an agreement with city-owned company PT Pembangunan Jaya<br>\nAncol (TIJA) to implement the technology.<\/p>\n<p>TIJA is also the operator of the Ancol Dreamland Park in<br>\nAncol, North Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>\"This agreement is based on a request made by the company,\"<br>\nKosasih said during a hearing with the City Council's commission<br>\nD overseeing development affairs.<\/p>\n<p>Kosasih said Ancol was one of the biggest customers of city<br>\ntap water company PD PAM Jaya, paying a water bill of up to Rp<br>\n2.5 billion a month.<\/p>\n<p>The huge expenses had prompted the company to seek alternative<br>\nways to supply clean water, he said. --JP<\/p>",
