Seat belt and helmet<\/p>\n
As an Indonesian citizen, I find it very distressful that
\nregulations are not strictly implemented. The government can
\nmandate a law on seat belts but does nothing against
\nmotorcyclists who carry their innocent children without helmets.
\nDo the parents have such little regard for their children,
\nconsidering the danger that may be faced if an accident happens?<\/p>\n
We are also accustomed to seeing more than two people riding
\non a motorbike. In most countries, this is against the law but
\nsince the extra riders are children, we in Indonesia have little
\nor no concern about the matter.<\/p>\n
Car passengers are somewhat protected in an accident because
\nthey are inside a car. This is not the case with motorcyclists.
\nNothing gives them protection in an accident except helmets. Why
\ndoes the government give high priority to the use of seat belts
\nto protect car occupants but pays little attention to the safety
\nof motorcyclists? Especially considering that motorcycles are a
\ncommon means of transportation.<\/p>\n
