        "content": "<p>Seat allocation protested<\/p>\n<p>BOGOR (JP): Three groups held a protest on Wednesday during<br>\nthe Bogor Council's inauguration ceremony, accusing some new<br>\nmembers of manipulating the number of legislative seats.<\/p>\n<p>The protesters were members and supporters of the National<br>\nMandate Party (PAN), the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle<br>\n(PDI Perjuangan) and students of the Bogor Institute of<br>\nAgriculture (IPB).<\/p>\n<p>PAN spokesman in Bogor Usep Saripudin said his group is<br>\ndisappointed with the West Java governor's decree stipulating<br>\nthat PDI Perjuangan obtained 12 seats and PAN four seats in the<br>\nBogor Council, while PNI-Front Marhaenis and the Indonesian<br>\nDemocratic Union Party (PUDI) have one seat each.<\/p>\n<p>\"Based on the National Election Committee (PPI) count<br>\nofficiated by PPI chairman Jacob Tobing on Aug. 13, PDI<br>\nPerjuangan has 13 seats and PAN should have five seats,\" Usep<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The disparities in seat allocations triggered the protest.<\/p>\n<p>The group had sent a letter to the Bogor District Court to<br>\ndelay the inauguration of council members until the matter is<br>\nsettled.<\/p>\n<p>\"But the court did not do anything about it,\" he said.<br>\n(24\/edt)<\/p>",
