        "content": "<p>SEA Games walk event hit dead end<\/p>\n<p>BANGKOK (AFP): The walking races at this year's Southeast<br>\nAsian Games in Chiang Mai in December have got snarled up in<br>\nThailand's traffic problems, a newspaper said.<\/p>\n<p>The Olympic Committee of Thailand informed the Southeast Asian<br>\nFederation council, which toured the northern city last week,<br>\nthat walking races would have to be dropped, the Bangkok Post<br>\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>The events would cause severe roadblocks in Thailand's second<br>\nlargest city, already plagued by hints of Bangkok's traffic<br>\nnightmare, and transportation of goods from the north would be<br>\ndisrupted, the organizing committee explained.<\/p>\n<p>Malaysia, Indonesia and Burma were upset as they have done<br>\nwell in past Southeast Asian Games, the daily said.<\/p>\n<p>Apart from wrangling over events to included or excluded, the<br>\ncommittee received high marks for progress made in construction<br>\nof facilities, it said.<\/p>",
