Scientists to meet at LIPI forum<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Albert
\nEinstein's Theory of Relativity, the Indonesian Institute for
\nSciences (LIPI) plans to hold a gathering of Indonesian
\nscientists here on Nov. 18-19.<\/p>\n
\"The meeting is part of the celebration of one century of
\nEinstein's magnificent theory that has made significant
\ncontributions to the development of modern science and
\ntechnology,\" LIPI vice chairman Lukman Hakim said on Monday.<\/p>\n
Lukman said the planned meeting, themed \"Towards Bright and
\nBrilliant Indonesia\", would discuss how to improve people's
\nawareness about science and technology and encourage young
\nscientists to develop research.<\/p>\n
To attract young scientists to the meeting, LIPI has invited
\n1996 Noble laureate for Physics, Prof. Douglas Dean Osheroff, who
\nwill give speeches at the two-day conference to be held at the
\ninstitute's building in South Jakarta. Some 16 award-winning
