        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has confirmed that\neducation providers in Indonesia, from primary to upper secondary\nlevels, will be evaluated annually to ensure the creation of a safe and\ncomfortable school environment for students. Minister of Primary and\nSecondary Education Abdul Mu\u2019ti, speaking after a media gathering in\nJakarta on Tuesday, said the periodic evaluation process is carried out\ncomprehensively through the School Environment Survey mechanism. \u201cEvery\nyear there is a school environment survey filled in by students using a\npopulation method, not just a sample,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This annual evaluation is designed to support Ministerial Regulation\nNumber 6 of 2026 concerning the Development of a Safe and Comfortable\nSchool Culture. The regulation was issued as a demonstration of the\ngovernment\u2019s commitment and as a follow-up to Government Regulation\nNumber 17 of 2025 on Electronic System Governance in Child Protection\nand the President\u2019s directive regarding a Safe, Healthy, Friendly, and\nInclusive culture.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the school culture regulation, the ministry also\nissued a Circular on restricting gadget use for children under 16 years\nof age within the school environment. The government considers these\nefforts crucial given that the rate of child violence and the\npenetration of digital technology in Indonesia remain relatively high.\nIt was reported in a limited meeting that cases of violence against\nchildren in Indonesia currently reach around 21,000 cases. Furthermore,\ninternet user penetration in Indonesia has reached 81 percent,\nequivalent to 235 million people, with the youth and children\ndemographic dominating more than 80 percent of that digital\npopulation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education applies a humanist,\ninclusive, and participatory approach by prioritising\neducative-pedagogical principles,\u201d he said, stressing that through\ncontinuous evaluation and the implementation of this policy, the\ngovernment is optimistic that children can carry out the learning\nprocess with the support of healthy psychological, mental, and spiritual\nconditions.<\/p>",
