A flyer circulating on social media has alleged sexual harassment by\na security guard against a student at SMAN 1 Sentolo, Kulcal Progo. The\nschool authorities have now spoken out regarding the incident.<\/p>\n
The social media post featured slogans such as \u2018Case of Security\nGuard Molestation Covered Up\u2019 and \u2018Students are required to arrive at\n6:50 AM. We are not slaves.\u2019 However, the primary focus of the\ncontroversy is the alleged harassment by the security guard.<\/p>\n
Johan Wahyudi, the Vice Principal for Student Affairs, stated that\nthe incident occurred in early August when two female students returned\nto the classroom to retrieve items left behind after marching band\n(tonti) practice.<\/p>\n
At the time, the school premises were nearly empty. As it was already\n4:00 PM and most areas had been closed, the students requested\nassistance from the security guard to retrieve items such as a phone\ncharger.<\/p>\n
Johan noted that after the items were retrieved, the guard allegedly\nattempted to embrace one of the students, who subsequently moved away to\navoid him.<\/p>\n
The school became aware of the incident after the student reported\nthe discomfort to the school counsellor. CCTV footage was subsequently\nreviewed to verify the claims.<\/p>\n
According to Johan, the CCTV footage confirms the attempted embrace\nand shows the student actively avoiding the guard and running away while\non a video call with a friend to ensure the incident would not be\nrepeated.<\/p>\n
Security Guard Reassigned<\/strong><\/p>\n Johan stated that the school immediately contacted the security\nservice provider to request that the guard be transferred from the\nschool premises to ensure student safety and comfort. The school\npresented the video evidence to the provider, requesting a rotation of\npersonnel rather than immediate dismissal.<\/p>\n Following a meeting with the service provider, the security guard\nreportedly admitted to the actions captured on CCTV. Consequently, the\nguard was required to sign a written agreement and has been issued a\nthird warning (SP3), stating that any recurrence will result in\ndismissal.<\/p>\n Clarification on Student Video\/Flyer<\/strong><\/p>\n Regarding the recent emergence of flyers claiming the case had not\nbeen addressed, Johan stated that the school summoned the students who\ncreated the flyers to clarify the information.<\/p>\n Johan explained that because students and seniors felt the matter\nremained unresolved, they created the flyers alleging that the\nmolestation was being ignored. He argued that the claim that the case\nwas being hidden or left unaddressed was inaccurate, as the school had\ntaken decisive action, though he acknowledged that some students may\nstill feel dissatisfied with the outcome.<\/p>",
