School of intelligence<\/p>\n
Two schools of intelligence will be established in Indonesia.
\nTeachers and instructors reportedly will come from the Central
\nIntelligence Agency (CIA) and the Russian KGB.<\/p>\n
One intelligence agent in the right spot is as good as 20,000
\nsoldiers on the battlefield, said Napoleon Bonaparte. We do not
\nknow if President Megawati Soekarnoputri was aware of Napoleon's
\nstatement when she officiated over the establishment of the
\nschools in Batam.<\/p>\n
The opening of the schools of intelligence should be
\napplauded, as the renowned University of Indonesian and Bandung
\nInstitute of Technology support the schools.<\/p>\n
It is interesting to note statements by the deputy head of the
\nState Intelligence Body, As'at, who said instructors and teachers
\nwould come from the CIA and the KGB. We query the reputation of
\nboth the CIA and the KGB, as we learn that the CIA has made
\nseveral blunders, including its information on Iraq's weapons of
\nmass destruction, and the fact that the KGB's reputation in the
\ninternational world is not very good.<\/p>\n
Strategic intelligence synthesizes information, especially
\nrelated to politics, the economy, technology, military and
\ngeography. It can then be expected that the two schools will
\nproduce qualified intelligence agents with a great deal of
\nintegrity.<\/p>\n
