        "content": "<p>According to Circular Letter Number 18 of 2026 on Restrictions on the\nUse of Electronic Devices in Educational Institutions, the inappropriate\nuse of gadgets within school environments can potentially diminish\nstudents\u2019 focus and degrade the quality of peer interactions.<\/p>\n<p>It may also raise the risk of digital technology misuse, which can\nadversely affect the students\u2019 physical and mental health.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTherefore, we are issuing guidelines to restrict gadget use in\neducational institutions to foster a safe and comfortable learning\nculture, as well as to support students\u2019 optimal growth and\ndevelopment,\u201d Mu\u2019ti remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Related news: Ministry urges parents to limit children\u2019s gadget use\nwith 3S rule<\/p>\n<p>In addition to enhancing the academic focus, he noted that the\ncircular letter was issued to improve face-to-face social interactions\namong students.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, it supports the Ministry\u2019s programme to build students\u2019\ncharacter and discipline, delivered through the Seven Habits of Great\nIndonesian Children (KAIH) movement.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the policy seeks to shield students from the negative\nimpacts of inappropriate gadget use, cultivating a healthy, safe, wise,\nand responsible digital culture, while optimising technology for\neducational purposes.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry deems this policy highly relevant given the intensity of\ninternet usage in Indonesia.
