        "content": "<p>Education is a fundamental right for every citizen and the primary\nkey to breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty. However, the\nchallenge of school dropouts often remains a significant barrier to\nsocietal progress in various regions.<\/p>\n<p>Through the updating of accurate citizen data, local governments must\nbe able to map areas vulnerable to school dropouts caused by economic or\ngeographical constraints. Armed with such data, the government can\nintervene directly by establishing alternative schools, expanding the\nreach of equivalency education services, and providing free transport\naccess for students in remote areas.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to distance constraints, economic factors are often the\nprimary reason why communities are forced to halt their children\u2019s\neducation.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, the 2026 Batch II Regional Sulawesi Local Government\nAchievement Awards were held to recognise regions deemed capable of\nexpanding access to quality educational services. These regions were\nincluded in the awards under the \u2018Access to Education Services\u2019\ncategory.<\/p>\n<p>This category assesses the commitment and performance of local\ngovernments in expanding public access to equitable and high-quality\neducational services. The assessment covers the equitable distribution\nof teachers, educational facilities, literacy and numeracy achievements,\nand community participation in education. Regional innovation serves as\nan added value in providing adaptive educational services oriented\ntowards improving human resource quality.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 Batch II Regional Sulawesi Local Government Achievement\nAwards continue a series of recognitions previously held in several\nIndonesian regions. Following the Sumatra Region in Batam, the Java and\nBali Region in Bali, and the Kalimantan Region in Balikpapan, the series\nproceeded to the Sulawesi Region.<\/p>\n<p>Several local governments in Sulawesi received spotlight for the\nprogrammes and innovations they have implemented, including\nenvironmental management, improving access to health and education\nservices, and providing decent housing for the community.<\/p>\n<p>The 2026 Batch II Regional Sulawesi Local Government Achievement\nAwards took place on Friday, 10 September 2026, at 19:00 WITA.
