        "content": "<p>Kupang (ANTARA) - An old school building at SD Inpres Oepula in South\nCentral Timor Regency (TTS), East Nusa Tenggara, has reportedly\ncollapsed, resulting in the death of a pupil. TTS Police Chief AKBP\nHendra Dorizen, contacted from Kupang on Thursday, stated that the\nbuilding had long been out of use but was frequently used by children as\na play area. \u201cThe building has not been in use since 2023, but children\noften use it for playing,\u201d he said. The deceased victim was identified\nas Noldi Kause (9), a first-grade pupil, who was struck on the head by\nfalling debris. In addition, two other children were victims, one\nsustaining serious injuries and the other minor injuries. Local\nresidents, upon hearing the sound of the collapse, rushed to the scene\nto evacuate the victims and provide assistance. One victim with serious\ninjuries was immediately taken to Soe General Hospital for medical\ntreatment. The Police Chief and his team visited the site to conduct\nscene processing and assist with the evacuation. Based on preliminary\ninvestigations, the building is believed to have collapsed due to its\ndilapidated condition from age. The structure was built in 1991 and was\nno longer fit for use. The police have urged the public to increase\nvigilance regarding old buildings that pose a potential danger,\nparticularly to children.<\/p>",
