        "content": "<p>SCB launches new scheme<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Standard Chartered Bank (SCB), in cooperation<br>\nwith insurance company CIGNA International, launched on Saturday<br>\na new savings scheme combining a regular savings account with<br>\ninsurance coverage.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Our research shows that banking customers in Indonesia view<br>\ninsurance protection as a value-added benefit,&quot; Standard<br>\nChartered&apos;s country head of consumer banking, Farhad Irani, said.<\/p>\n<p>Savings Plus comes with free life insurance coverage, personal<br>\naccident coverage and a hospital cash plan.<\/p>\n<p>The life insurance coverage is for 100 percent of a customer&apos;s<br>\naverage balance, up to a maximum of Rp 200 million, while the<br>\npersonal accident coverage is equal to 200 percent of the<br>\ncustomer&apos;s average balance, up to a maximum of Rp 400 million.<br>\nThe hospital cash plan provides a daily payment of up to Rp<br>\n250,000 when a customer is hospitalized.<\/p>\n<p>The higher the balance in the customer&apos;s account, the higher<br>\nthe insurance protection, the bank said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>CIGNA chief executive officer for Indonesia Steven Lee Novkov<br>\nsaid the combination of insurance coverage and a savings account<br>\nhad never before been offered.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;We hope Standard Chartered customers will derive a benefit<br>\nfrom the scheme,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>The London-based Standard Chartered has operated in Indonesia<br>\nsince 1863.
