Scam artist arrested for theft<\/p>\n
TANGERANG: A bogus journalist was arrested by the police on
\nTuesday for allegedly stealing a cellular phone in a public
\nminivan near Cimone bus terminal in Tangerang municipality.<\/p>\n
The 18-year-old victim, Dwi Widiyanti, said that she and a
\nfriend were in the public minivan when the suspect, identified as
\nLister Manalu Sidikalang, 31, got in.<\/p>\n
\"As soon as the man sat down, he massaged my knee. He then did
\nthe same thing to other passengers while distributing brochures
\nfor alternative therapy,\" said the first-year college student.<\/p>\n
She said after he got off the minivan right in front of a
\ndepartment store in Cimone, she realized that her cellular phone
\nshe put in her pocket was missing.<\/p>\n
She and her friend then got off the minivan and looked for
\nLister. When they found him, he denied having stolen her cellular
\nphone, saying that he was a journalist from a weekly tabloid and
\nshowed them a press card.<\/p>\n
\"Let's go to the police, I am not afraid,\" the victim quoted
\nthe suspect as saying.<\/p>\n
The argument had attracted many people, who then became angry
\nand wanted to attack the man.<\/p>\n
By coincidence, a traffic police officer passed by and took
\nthe suspect to the police headquarters.<\/p>\n
After being interrogated, the suspect then admitted to
\nstealing the cellular phone, which he then passed on to his three
\ncolleagues, who were dressed like office workers, in the

JAKARTA: The city administration plans to carefully study a
\nproposal from a Malaysian firm, M Trans Holding, which expressed
\nits wish to construct a monorail project to help ease the chronic
\nproblems of the city transportation.<\/p>\n
Assistant to the city secretary for development affairs Irzal
\nDjamal said he expected to receive this weekend the feasibility
\nreport, which will become the basis for the issuance of a
\nconcession permit to the Indonesian Transit Central (ITC) by
\nGovernor Sutiyoso.<\/p>\n
ITC is the consortium which will manage the project.<\/p>\n
Irzal said that he was tasked by the governor to study the
\nfeasibility document to see whether the project could be
\nintegrated with the overall plan for the transportation system
\nbeing developed by the city administration.<\/p>\n
\"One of the things that is important to us is the price for
\npassengers, and whether the price is feasible for the average
\nIndonesian,\" Irzal said.<\/p>\n
The Malaysian firm is prepared to invest Rp 3.28 trillion
\n(US$400 million) in the first stage of the project, including the
\nconstruction of stations.<\/p>\n
The company plan to construct the monorail connecting Bekasi
\nand Tangerang, passing through the city, including Jl.
