SBY's men get promotion<\/p>\n
The Indonesian Military (TNI)
\nHeadquarters launched a major reshuffle on Wednesday affecting
\nhigh-ranking military officers, including Maj. Gen. Endang
\nSuwarya from commanding Iskandar Muda Military Command in the
\ntroubled Aceh province to his new post as deputy Army chief of
\nstaff.<\/p>\n
He will be replaced by Maj. Gen. Syafiuddin Yusuf, the current
\nUdayana Military Commander who oversees North and West Nusa
\nTenggara and Bali provinces.<\/p>\n
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's brothers-in-law were also
\npromoted in the reshuffle. They are Brig. Gen. Pramono Eddy
\nWibowo, who was appointed as deputy commander of the Army's
\nSpecial Force (Kopassus), and Maj. Gen. Erwin Sudjono, who was
\nappointed as head of Tanjung Pura Military Command overseeing
\nKalimantan province.<\/p>\n
Brig. Gen. Setya Purwaka, known as one of Susilo's closest
\nassistants, was also promoted as deputy minister of home affairs
\nand political coordination at the Office of the Coordinating
\nMinister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs.<\/p>\n
According to head of the TNI's information department Col. A.
\nYani Basuki, the reshuffle also affected commanders of the Air
\nForce's Western and Eastern fleets. -- JP<\/p>",
