Jakarta \u2014 Former President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) has\nremembered the late General (Retired) Try Sutrisno as a statesman who\nhas provided an example for the nation and state.<\/p>\n
Following the funeral of Indonesia\u2019s sixth Vice President, SBY\nexpressed deep condolences over Try Sutrisno\u2019s passing. He described the\nlate general as an individual of exemplary character, both in his life\nas a soldier and as a national leader.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was a pious individual, he was a soldier and patriot, he was a\nleader, he set an example for his family, and above all he was a\nstatesman,\u201d SBY said at Kalibata Heroes Cemetery in South Jakarta on\nMonday, 2 March 2026.<\/p>\n
According to SBY, Try Sutrisno was known not only as a military\nfigure but also as someone who upheld the values of service to the\nnation. SBY also explained that Sutrisno\u2019s leadership served as\ninspiration both within the military and throughout his service in\ngovernment.<\/p>\n
