        "content": "<p>SBY and the opportunity<\/p>\n<p>If ever a country has moved positively in the right direction <br>\nin such a short period of time, then take your hats off and say <br>\nwell done Indonesia. We only need to look back six short years at <br>\na country that was facing not only financial ruin, but also the<br>\npossibility of becoming a failed state.<\/p>\n<p>All that is historic mumbo-jumbo as Indonesia now turns the <br>\ncorner and heads for a future that could well be the envy of<br>\nmany. SBY has just inherited a nation of immense opportunity that <br>\nhas been wasted and abused over the past decades. He will know <br>\nfor sure the power of the people in a country that has cried out <br>\nin desperation at the blatant waste of potential and natural<br>\nresources.<\/p>\n<p>The people have also patiently waited for the political elite <br>\nto understand what nationalism and Indonesia is all about. The <br>\nso-called reformasi (reform) flag bearers of 1998\/1999 have all <br>\nshown their inability to lead this nation forward, and yet <br>\ndespite their failures, the people have stayed solid in their <br>\nbelief that Indonesia can be a well respected and morally correct <br>\ncountry.<\/p>\n<p>This has been sitting their just waiting for the right leader <br>\nto come along, but SBY would be wise to consider his role and his <br>\nobligations as the new president. This country is in desperate<br>\nneed of a person that puts nation building at the very top of the <br>\nagenda, and that is most certainly achievable if Susilo has the <br>\ncourage to stay focused on his campaign agenda. To be able to <br>\nwalk freely among the many different ethnic and religious<br>\ncommunities in this country would be the pinnacle of anyone's <br>\ncareer, and to do so would surely unite this nation as never <br>\nbefore.<\/p>\n<p>I envy the SBY situation, for this world needs leaders that <br>\nare clear-sighted, committed and blessed with an opportunity to <br>\nlead a nation that is more than ready to demonstrate its<br>\nwillingness to move forward.<\/p>\n<p>Just look around the world at the desperate state of many <br>\nnations, and then look at the opportunity facing Indonesia and <br>\nSBY.
