        "content": "<p>Riyadh \u2014 Saudi Arabia\u2019s Supreme Court has called upon Muslims\nthroughout the Kingdom to observe the Shawwal crescent on Wednesday\nevening, 18 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In its formal announcement, the court requested that anyone who\nsights the crescent, whether with the naked eye or using a telescope,\nimmediately report it to the nearest court and register their\ntestimony.<\/p>\n<p>According to reports published in Arab News on Monday, 16 March 2026,\nthe court also urged members of the public who successfully witness the\ncrescent to contact the nearest centre for assistance in reaching the\ncourt if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Supreme Court encouraged individuals capable of\nconducting crescent observations to join committees that have been\nestablished across various regions and participate in the rukyatul hilal\n(crescent sighting) process.<\/p>\n<p>According to the court, such participation constitutes a form of\ncooperation in the interests of the Muslim community whilst supporting\nthe accurate determination of the start of the month of Shawwal.<\/p>",
