        "content": "<p>JAKARTA (ANTARA) - The Forest Area Clearance Task Force (Satgas PKH)\nhas responded to PT Putraprima Mineral Mandiri\u2019s (PMM) denial regarding\nallegations of smuggling rare earth metals (LTJ) and radioactive\nelements. Satgas PKH spokesperson Barita Simanjuntak told media in\nJakarta on Friday that rare earth metals are already prohibited for\nexport. \u201cRegardless of the contents, rare earth sand is a commodity\nprohibited from export. Moreover, scientific laboratory tests have\nrevealed the presence of elements banned from trade and export. This is\nclear,\u201d he said. He explained that 25 containers were seized from the TB\nCapricorn 106\/TK Capricorn 92.210 vessel by the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL)\nin Batam, Riau Islands. Ten of the containers belonged to PT Timah, and\nlaboratory tests confirmed they contained tin as declared. He revealed\nthat the company refused and was uncooperative when the containers were\nto be inspected. Due to suspected document discrepancies, investigators\nconducted scientific testing by taking samples. The results showed the\ntransported material contained rare earth metals. \u201cFrom the test\nresults, the material was found to contain elements prohibited for\nexport trade, specifically rare earth sand (rare earth metals) with\ncertain material content,\u201d he said. \u201cThus, the issue is that the\ndocumentation is correct, but the contents do not match,\u201d he added.\nAdditionally, Poltak submitted evidence of legal violations allegedly\ncommitted by the Batam Naval Regional Commander (Kodareal IV) for\nunsealing 15 containers and sampling PT PMM\u2019s ilmenite mineral products.\nHe stated that the documents were submitted to refute claims that PT PMM\nhad smuggled hazardous radioactive minerals and prohibited export\nmaterials. \u201cThe accusations are defamatory, baseless, and highly\ndamaging to us as a law-abiding company in this country,\u201d he said. He\nexplained that PT PMM has laboratory test results from PT Sucofindo,\nwhich showed the exported minerals contained no hazardous substances.\n\u201cIf our goods contained radioactive or hazardous materials, Sucofindo\nwould not have issued the certificate, nor would Customs have approved\nit,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
