Satan at work<\/p>\n
Conflicts in Ambon and elsewhere are not a religious conflict,
\nbut a satanic one. Only Satan wants to destroy the mosques,
\nchurches and temples where the name of God is remembered.<\/p>\n
Desperately needed is, in fact, a religious solution.<\/p>\n
Muslim members of the Armed Forces (ABRI), supported by local
\nGod-fearing people and disciplined Muslim volunteers placing
\nthemselves under military command, should defend the mosques,
\nwith their lives if need be.<\/p>\n
Muslim and Christian defenders would have a lot at stake. If
\nthey are successful, they would win the love and respect of the
\nother community. If not, the satanic forces would be strengthened
\nby allegations of collusion and the embers of hatred would again
\nbe fanned.<\/p>\n
For Muslims and Christians to defend their own is expected and
\ndoes not really mean much. But for the satanic forces of division
\nto be destroyed, the only answer is to make sacrifices for each
\nother.<\/p>\n
This may be seen as a naive appeal. It is, in fact, the only
\npractical solution and it is based on explicit Koranic and
\nBiblical teaching.<\/p>\n
As the general election draw nearer and everyone faces
\nhardship from the global economic disaster created by greed and
\ndivision, the only solution is selflessness and sacrifice.<\/p>\n
As a Muslim I would certainly be ready to sacrifice
\neverything, including life itself, for the freedom of worship of
\nmy brother Christians, Jews, Hindus and anybody of whatever
\nreligion. I am bound to this by the teaching of the Koran.<\/p>\n
Christians, too, are taught to \"love thy neighbor as thyself\"
\nand have the parable of the Good Samaritan to teach them the
\nmeaning of \"neighborliness\".<\/p>\n
No, these are not religious riots. Religion, in the sense of
\nGod-fearing selfless sacrifice and true justice, is the solution,
\nnot the problem.<\/p>\n
