Sarwono urges media not to play up Wynne's victory<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The media must not give too much coverage to
\nWynne Prakusya, who recently won the Asia Oceania Group I Fed Cup
\nQualifying Round for Indonesia.<\/p>\n
The Indonesia Tennis Association's chairman, Sarwono
\nKusumaatmadja, said the Indonesia public can be cruel.<\/p>\n
\"The line between a compliment and condemnation here is very
\nthin,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Sarwono, who is also the state minister of environment, said
\nit is acceptable for people to compliment athletes when they
\nreach their highest achievement, but they should not blame the
\nathletes when they lose.<\/p>\n
\"I'm worried about the possible media coverage on Wynne.
\nPlease cover her in a proper way,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Yayuk Basuki, world ranked 24, agreed with Sarwono.<\/p>\n
\"Wynne is a young player with potential. If she is given too
\nmany compliments, it could influence her career,\" she said.<\/p>\n
Wynne, Yayuk, Eny Sulistyowati and Mimma Chernovita were the
\ncountry's heroines in the Fed Cup tie last week in Wellington.<\/p>\n
The 16-year-old Wynne was unbeatable in her seven matches,
\nfive in singles and two in doubles.<\/p>\n
Indonesia will compete in the World Group II playoffs on July
\n12 and July 13.<\/p>\n
Indonesia will most likely meet either Austria, Slovakia,
\nSouth Korea or South Africa.<\/p>\n
Coach Utaminingsih said the team will prepare for the playoffs
\nby taking part in other international tournaments.<\/p>\n
Physical trainer Paulus Pasurnay said they still have two
\nmonths to train and improve their physical performance.<\/p>\n
\"They still need to increase their speed and power,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Junior<\/p>\n
The association has decided not to field Wynne in the Danamon
\nIndonesia Open here next month. The tier four tournament offers a
\ncash prize of US$100,000 and will be participated in by the world
\ntop 20 to top 100 players.<\/p>\n
The association has decided to instead send Wynne and Eny to
\nthe Japan Open Junior Championship and the Asian Close Junior
\nTournament, both held in Tokyo next month.<\/p>\n
Benny Mailili, an official of the association's National Team
\nBoard, said it would be better for Wynne and Eny to play in the
\njunior tournaments and reach the quarterfinals rather than lose
\nin a tier four satellite in the first round.<\/p>\n
Wynne expressed disappointment as the association gave a wild
\ncard to compatriot Liza Andriyani, who is not a member of the
\nnational team.<\/p>\n
\"I realize that I'm still a junior but the association could
\nhave given wild cards to other national team members instead of
