        "content": "<p>Sarwono doesn't expect to be reappointed<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Outgoing State Minister of Environment Sarwono<br>\nKusumaatmadja said yesterday that he did not expect to serve<br>\nanother term as a cabinet minister.<\/p>\n<p>However, the final decision would lie with the next president,<br>\nSarwono said at a media conference held in his Jakarta office.<\/p>\n<p>\"My point is that I don't make a fuss. It (appointing aides)<br>\nis the problem of the president-elect,\" he told journalists when<br>\nasked about his chances of a ministerial post in the next<br>\ncabinet.<\/p>\n<p>The 1993\/1998 cabinet will be dissolved today. Outgoing<br>\nministers, led by Vice President Try Sutrisno, bid farewell to<br>\nPresident Soeharto at the State Palace this afternoon.<\/p>\n<p>Soeharto will this morning deliver his accountability speech<br>\nto the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR). He is widely<br>\nexpected to be reelected later in the General Session's<br>\nproceedings.<\/p>\n<p>The new cabinet is usually announced by the president one week<br>\nafter the General Session which runs from today until March 11.<br>\nThe 1,000-member body have convened to elect a president and vice<br>\npresident for the next five years. They will also endorse the<br>\nState Policy Guidelines during the Session.<\/p>\n<p>Asked what he planned to do when relieved of his ministerial<br>\nresponsibilities, Sarwono joked that he would like to be<br>\nnominated as vice president.<\/p>\n<p>\"What I will not want to be is nominated commissioner of<br>\ntimber estates or textile companies,\" he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sarwono has twice served Soeharto as a minister. His previous<br>\npost was as state minister of administrative reforms. He was also<br>\nsecretary-general of the dominant Golkar political organization<br>\nfrom 1983 to 1988.<\/p>\n<p>Sarwono stated that he had high hopes that the future cabinet<br>\nwould be able to boost domestic and international confidence in<br>\nthe government of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\"That should be the country's first priority when speaking<br>\nabout the new cabinet,\" he added.
