This war is against<br>\nthe outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome or SARS.<\/p>\n<p>While the Indonesian government has come under fire for its<br>\nmeasures imposed to fight the spread of the often fatal virus,<br>\npeople have been forced to act to protect themselves.<\/p>\n<p>In Jakarta people have started wearing surgical masks to<br>\nprevent transmission.<\/p>\n<p>The virus, which has no known cure, is believed to have<br>\ninvaded a number of countries via air travelers.<\/p>\n<p>Many nations have imposed strict controls at airports and<br>\nports on passengers arriving from affected countries.<\/p>\n<p>SARS is thought to have broken out in southern China and then<br>\nspread via Hong Kong to at least 18 other countries.<\/p>",
