'SARS no risk at Borobudur festival'<\/p>\n
PURWOKERTO, Central Java: Governor Mardiyanto dismissed on
\nSaturday fears that the worldwide outbreak of Severe Acute
\nRespiratory Syndrome (SARS) would adversely affect plans to hold
\nan international arts festival in the grounds of prominent
\nBorobudur temple, Magelang, Central Java, in June.<\/p>\n
\"It's a rare international festival. We are committed to
\nmaking the event a success, so there will be no changes to our
\nplans, whatever happens,\" Mardiyanto said on the sidelines of a
\nvisit to Purwokerto.<\/p>\n
He said his administration had anticipated the outbreak by
\nasking all hospitals across the province to set up a special team
\nto deal with people showing SARS symptoms. Two suspected cases of
\nSARS have so far been found in the province, with one of the
\npatients already discharged from the hospital.<\/p>\n
\"We will not take special precautionary measures, including
\nexamining participants at the festival in connection with the
\nSARS epidemic,\" Mardiyanto said.<\/p>\n
Participants from several countries affected by SARS,
\nincluding China, Singapore and Thailand, have confirmed their
