SARS hits artist's restaurants<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The SARS scare that has swept across the globe has
\ndealt a heavy blow to entertainer Roni Sianturi's seafood
\nrestaurants in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
"Since the SARS scare began, people have been reluctant to
\nvisit public places. My restaurants have lost quite a few patrons
\nalthough I have retained my regular customers," Roni said.<\/p>\n
Roni, whose given name is Ronaldus Parasian Sianturi, said his
\nloyal patrons loved to give him input on the dishes served at his
\nrestaurants.<\/p>\n
The former husband of pop singer Atiek CB, Roni is a well-
\nknown singer, presenter, actor and master of ceremony.<\/p>\n
Born in Makassar, South Sulawesi, the 39-year-old Roni has two
\nrestaurants, Pondok Aroma Laut, specializing in seafood a la
\nMakassar.<\/p>\n
During a media event for the launch of Larasati, his new TV
\nseries to be aired by SCTV, he took the time to discuss how to
\nprepare some of the dishes.<\/p>\n
The Trio Libels member said he still had the time to supervise
\nhis restaurants despite his busy acting and singing schedule.
