Santika Indonesia Hotels & Resorts has reaffirmed its commitment
to supporting sustainable hospitality practices through the launch of a
Waste Management Programme & Media Gathering held at Hotel Santika
Premiere Slipi in Jakarta. Following the successful “Santika Friend of
Earth” initiative throughout 2025, this programme represents a tangible
step in strengthening Santika Indonesia Hotels & Resorts’
positioning as a hotel network prioritising eco-hotel concepts and
responsible waste management.

The programme results from a strategic collaboration between Santika
Indonesia Hotels & Resorts and Rekosistem, a company focused on
independent waste management that processes waste into recyclable
materials and reusable resources. Through this partnership, Santika
Indonesia Hotels & Resorts aims to implement a more integrated,
effective, and sustainable waste management system across its hotel
operations. The Waste Management Launch & Media Gathering was
attended by Santika Indonesia Hotels & Resorts management
representatives, Rekosistem officials, representatives from Santika
units in the Jabodetabek region, and media partners.

The programme’s formal launch took place symbolically through a
flag-off procession of the Waste Management truck, marking the
commencement of integrated and sustainable waste management operations.
The ceremony featured the raising of the Santika Friend of Earth flag by
Hugo Armand Oetama, General Manager of Corporate Business Development at
Santika Indonesia Hotels & Resorts, symbolising the company’s
commitment to reducing environmental impact from hotel operations.

Prita Gero, Corporate Marketing Communication Manager at Santika
Indonesia Hotels & Resorts, explained that the hospitality sector
plays an important role in supporting environmental sustainability.
Through collaboration with Rekosistem, responsible waste management
systems are being implemented consistently across hotel facilities. In
practice, waste will be sorted by type—including plastic, glass, and
food residue. Waste will then be processed through recycling so it can
be reused as everyday products. Food residue is also sorted to
distinguish between acid-contaminated and reusable materials, with the
latter potentially converted into compost.

Rekosistem welcomed the collaboration as a joint effort to increase
awareness and implementation of improved waste management in the
hospitality sector. Through this initiative, Santika Indonesia Hotels
& Resorts hopes to continue advancing sustainable hospitality
practices, not only within hotel operations but also encouraging guests,
partners, and communities to collectively contribute to environmental
protection. The programme is expected to serve as a strategic step in
supporting more environmentally friendly, sustainable, and responsible
tourism.

Santika Indonesia Hotels and Resorts currently manages 111 hotel
units across seven primary brands: The Anvaya Beach Resorts (five-star),
Hotel Santika Premiere (four-star), Hotel Santika (three-star), Kampi
Hotel (three-star lifestyle hotel), Amaris Hotel (smart hotel), and The
Royal Collection comprising The Samaya and The Kayana (boutique
villas).
",
