Sanrio show at Ciputra Mall<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Japanese Sanrio cartoon characters appear today
\nat the Ciputra Mall, West Jakarta, on the first day of the
\nJapanese Sanrio Festival.<\/p>\n
The festival, part of the mall's end-of-year celebrations,
\nwill run until Dec. 23. The mall's other celebrations will run
\nuntil the New Year.<\/p>\n
The festival includes a Sanrio product display, activities and
\ncompetitions like drawing, coloring in, origami and martial arts
\ndemonstrations.<\/p>\n
The show features Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, Kero-
\nkeroppi the Frog, and Monkichi the Monkey. It is called Dreams
\nCome True.<\/p>\n
The Mall's General Manager, Joni Sutanto, said the festival
\nwas designed to entertain families.<\/p>\n
Ciputra Mall is near three private universities and about
\n60,000 students alone go to the mall each day.<\/p>\n
The mall stages four family events a year.<\/p>\n
The last one was in June and called Celebrating Donald Duck.<\/p>\n
Joni said the festival cost about Rp 400 million and was
\nsponsored by the Mall and Sanrio Co. Ltd.<\/p>\n
In Indonesia PT Modern Indocitra is Sanrio's sole
\nmanufacturer.<\/p>\n
PT Modern's managing director Irwan Ryanto said the company
\nexpected to get Rp 300 million from the exhibition.<\/p>\n
Sanrio was set up 30 years ago and has created more than 1,000
