Samudra not linked to Ba'asyir or Mukhlas: Lawyers<\/p>\n

After being barred from sitting in on the questioning sessions,
\nlawyers representing principle Bali bombing suspect Imam Samudra
\nsigned the interrogation reports of their client on Saturday, in
\nwhich Samudra did not mention the suspected leaders of Jamaah
\nIslamiyah (JI).<\/p>\n
In the reports, according to the lawyers, Samudra did not
\nmention other masterminds for the Bali bombing, other than
\nhimself. He also admitted to having carried out other bombings in
\nother parts of Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Lawyer Qadar Faisal said that Samudra did not link himself in
\nthe Bali case with bombing suspect Abu Bakar Ba'asyir, believed
\nto be the spiritual leader of JI.<\/p>\n
\"In the case reports there is no link between my client and
\nBa'asyir. The content is basically the same with what the police
\nsaid,\" Qadar said as quoted by detik.com news portal.<\/p>\n
Ba'asyir is currently in detention at police headquarters in
\nJakarta for his alleged role in the Christmas bombings in 2000
\nand a reported assassination attempt of then Vice President
\nMegawati Soekarnoputi.<\/p>\n
Muklas, who is said to be a JI operational commander by the
\nIndonesian police as well as the older brother of another suspect
\nof the bombing, Amrozi, was also not mentioned in the reports.<\/p>\n
The lawyer also noted that in the reports, Samudra's motive to
\nconduct the deadly bombing was to take revenge for the Muslim's
\nsufferings around the world.<\/p>\n
The team of lawyers agreed to sign the interrogation reports
\nafter the police allowed them to accompany Samudra during the
\nquestioning on Saturday.<\/p>\n
They had been barred from accompanying Samudra in the past few
\ndays.<\/p>\n
Qadar further explained that so far the team of lawyers had
\nsigned six investigation reports, consisting of two for Samudra,
\nand the rest belonging to Samudra's accomplices: Abdul Rauf,
\nAndri Oktavia, Andi Hidayat and Junaedi.<\/p>\n
The lawyers signed the reports just one day after an
\nunidentified man shot at the Kijang van carrying three members of
\nthe Muslim Lawyers' Team (TPM), when they were heading to the
\npolice headquarters on Friday.<\/p>\n
The three members of TPM in the car at the time, Made Rahman
\nMarasabessy, Achmad Michdan and Qadar said the front window of
\nthe car was shot.<\/p>\n
The Kijang was passing through Kuningan, South Jakarta at 6
\na.m. when an unidentified person fired a shot at the right front
\nwindow of the car, shattering the glass window.<\/p>\n
\"I am sure it was a gunshot but the bullet did not pass
\nthrough the window,\" Rahman said, adding that they did not report
\nthe incident to the police.<\/p>\n
\"We consider the shooting as one of the risks of our job and
\nwe repaired the car soon after it happened,\" he remarked.<\/p>",
